This is the original edition of my book New Millennium Magic. When face with the prospect of The New Magus falling out of print, I was given the option of updating the work and releasing it under a new title. I agreed because it provided me the opportunity to add much material and correct a few errors. New Millennium Magic was the result.

Even though New Millennium Magic replaces The New Magus and contains much that is not in the earlier work, I have a deep fondness for this book because it was the first of my books to be published, way back in 1987. The cover is my own artwork, and illustrates my personal magic symbol, which also serves as the background to this Web site.

In this book I was able to offer a new and rationalized system of Western ritual magic that was based in the Golden Dawn tradition. It contains all of my understanding of magic at the time of its publication, and was derived from a detailed set of notes that I made for my own ritual use over a period of several years of intense study and daily ritual practice. This set of notes grew and grew, and it finally occurred to me that it might be made into a book. The New Magus was the result.

I often get asked where a copy of the book may be obtained. They are increasingly difficult to find. However, I tell people that everything in The New Magus is also contained in New Millennium Magic, which in addition holds a great deal of material that was never in the older book.
