(Aziel, from Francisci's Proteus infernalis)
Aziel is the guardian of hidden treasure. His three heads and serpentine fingers suggest an association with the threefold goddess Hecate, the Greek deity of witchcraft and the underworld. The demon is bearded, but has a feminine body with breasts, a narrow waist, and broad hips. This indicates that the demon is androgynous. His serpentine legs that end in fishy tails link him with serpentine monsters of the deeps such as Leviathan.
His name probably derives from that of the fallen angel Azael, one of the princes of the Watchers who descended to earth to couple sexually with mortal women. Azael is named in the Hebrew Book of Enoch.
