THE TEN SEPHIROTH ON THE BODY OF ADAM KADMON

(frontispiece from Isaac Myer's Qabbalah, 1888)

Many arrangements of the ten Sephiroth were used in the history of the Kabbalah. Perhaps the most popular was the placement of the Sephiroth on the body of Adam Kadmon, the Heavenly Adam who served as the archetypal pattern upon which humanity was based.

This image shows Kether on his crown, Chokmah at the level of his forehead, Binah at the level of his throat, Chesed on his right arm, Pachad (another name for the 5th Sephirah, more usually called Geburah) on his left arm, Tiphareth at his heart center, Netzach on his right leg, Hod on his left leg, Yesod at his groin, and Malkuth as the level of his feet.

The egg-shaped band around his body is the limit of the universe. Beyond it lies the Ain Soph, the Limitless Void.
