The Fourth Book of Occult Philosophy is
a collection of grimoires and divination texts that were bound into the
complete works of Henry Cornelius Agrippa, published shortly after
Agrippa's death. None of these texts was written by Agrippa except the
initial treatise on astrological geomancy, although the grimoire that
bears the title Agrippa, His Fourth
Book of Occult Philosophy is traditionally attributed to
Agrippa, and is regarded as the occult key to a practical understanding
and use of his monumental Three
Books of Occult Philosophy. In this work I have continued the
editorial practice used in my Llewellyn edition of the Three Books, and have analysed in
great detail each of the tracts by means of extensive notes and
appendices. My purpose was to make the content of the Fourth Book, which can be quite
difficult to understand, comprehensible to modern readers.
